Mackey Wins Record-Tying Third Straight Iditarod Dog-Sled Title
March 18 (Bloomberg) -- Lance Mackey won the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race for a record-tying third consecutive year.

Mackey, 38, finished the 1,100-mile (1,770-kilometer) race in 9 days, 21 hours, 38 minutes. His closest competitors, Sebastian Schnuelle and John Baker, have yet to reach the finish line in Nome, Alaska.

Mackey, from Fairbanks, Alaska, joins Doug Swingley, who won the race from 1999 to 2001, and Susan Butcher (1986-1988) as the only champions three consecutive years. The overall record for championships is four, shared by Butcher, Swingley, Rick Swenson, Martin Buser and Jeff King.Mackey’s father,
Dick, won the Iditarod in 1978, while his older brother, Rick, claimed the title in 1983.

    He one three dog awards. that is impressive I ploble no I cant do it. From 1978 to 1983.. this is the most greadest thing I ever heard. I could not win that race. Because I don’t have a dog. And it is in a different state this Is why I cant win the race.

This is one day I overcome something.I was so tirered in school,then suddenly,my teacher told us we were going to write a story in 25 minets.I was so worried!Then I took one more peek at the picture then suddenly,I started writing and writing and writing somuch untill my teacher told us:TIMES UP!By the time he said that my fingers were on fire!

    Then what happend was that in the end of the day,my teacher told me that I should come to him, and I did.He gave me my test back and there was a grade on it!The grade was a four! (A).And that was how I gotto overcome my test!

  3. This is one time I overcame my fear. I had to get three shots. I went into the doctor's office with so much fear. The Nurse called me up. I heard her say, Arnav needs three shots.

    The doctor brought in the tray of shots. My dad said to the doctor to give Arnav the most painful shot first. When gave the first shot I did not feel as much pain as I thought I would.
    I asked the doctor, if the next two shots would be less painful. He said "yes". After I got all the shots, my arms were sore. When I got home, my arms felt better. That was one fear I overcame.
